Gentium’s approach to Investment is focused, committed and yet flexible. As a multi stage PE firm we are not hidebound with the financials alone. Management’s vision, capability, skin and commitment are equally important. As such our due diligence process encompasses a wide variety of facets starting with stage and purpose qualification, financials, management, industry sector analysis, disrupting usp, scalability, ESG metric.
Our groundwork reflects our commitment to retaining the quality of our portfolio. A good growth company with absurd valuation is equally a risky proposition as that of ignoring a fallen angel having the turn around potential and the one that is available at a bargain. We critically evaluate prospects and leads each one individually in a 360 degree manner before taking a call.
Once invested we monitor our capital and extend each possible help to the management to ensure our own and our investors’ capital are protected and are decidedly moving towards the envisioned goals.
We may upscale our investment, participate in next round or simply invite strategic investors for value enhancement.
Exit opportunities are well crafted with pre decided targets. We may seek exit through various means :
Success at Gentium is not a localised cold numbers driven multiple. We are committed to realizing collective success. We believe in numbers metric, but we perfectly understand that on a sustainable basis if we have to realize our potential we need to have a keen eye to stakeholders management. It is just not about the Investors or even our own capital. Success of promoters, business, industry, channel partners all are important to realize our vision. Protecting, nurturing and enhancing various stakeholders interest is thus a balancing act that Gentium have mastered and turned it into an art.
Instead of a ‘lets see’ how things unfold approach and leaving to uncertainty, we plan deep and we plan forward. We visualize the ‘what if’, take full account of risk parameters and have the roadmap laid for the investment lifecycle.
